Golf Gifts for Dad: The Vices

Monogrammed Cigar Case with Cutter

If your dad is anything like me, he loves a good cigar out on the course. But also like me, he might have been frustrated one fine afternoon to find the Romeo y Julieta he had been saving for his Sunday morning round had been crushed by junk inside his golf bag.

I’m not bitter, I’m just here to sing the praises of a proper, protective cigar case. Not only will it help keep your cigars fresher, longer, it’ll make the owner look and feel properly dignified. Wrapped in a water resistant leatherette that can be personalized with dad’s initials, this monogrammed cigar case with cutter says, “Sure, smoking’s a vice, but with this case, it’s also a very special occasion.”

Smoke ’em if you got ’em!

Golf-Themed Barware for Dad

Turn your home into the 19th hole with this handsome set of custom beer mugs. With a frosted golf ball detail in the bottom, and their sturdy, all glass construction, these personalized barware beer mugs will make any beverage destination feel like a clubhouse. With the option to engrave dad’s monogram (or even just one initial), he’ll love sticking these in the freezer before a round so that by the time he gets home, they’re frosty and ready to be filled with his favorite beverage. These personalized glasses with the ball detail in the bottom are also available in a rocks glass for cocktails and a pint glass with no handle (for bigger cocktails, we’re not making rules here).

Perfect for toasting great shots and forgetting bad ones

If monogramming isn’t your thing, but you still like the beverage angle, check out this unique golf ball pint glass with a real golf ball molded right into the glass itself. It defies more gravity than your last duck hook!

Golf Gifts for Dad: The Gear

“The Coolest, Most Innovative Golf Bag Ever”

The words of PGA Golfer Jason Gore, not ours, but one look and you’ll certainly agree that the MNML golf bag is truly the bag of the season, guaranteed to add immediate flex to his game and his style. This is a beautifully made bag with plenty of pockets for his golf paraphernalia, an “insanely comfortable” shoulder strap, and a thermally insulated pouch for his six pack. Something that any golf dad will surely appreciate.

With courses limiting the use of carts due to Covid-19, a new, lightweight carrying bag specifically designed for walking is a perfect gift. Not to mention it has every feature you can image, from a pocket that holds a smartphone so it can film his golf swing to the custom bluetooth speaker and solar powered phone charger, there isn’t anything he needs that isn’t already incorporated. If your dad likes golf, gear, and looking good, you’d be hard pressed to top this Father’s Day gift.

Golf Club Finders

The classic gift for any father who’s been known to leave a club behind on a hole (pretty much all golfers have done this), these personalized golf club finders will help ensure the safe return of any wayward stick. These custom club finders can be engraved with his name or initials and give his sticks a custom feel. Simply pop them into the butt of the grip (there’s already a hole, we promise) and watch his surprise when he pulls them out of the bag for the first time.

With these he can pretty much leave the clubs wherever he wants

Not only will these Club Finders give dad’s clubs that custom feel, with their deep engraving, and lightweight design, his name and contact info won’t wear off, and, more importantly for him, his swing won’t change.

Divot Repair Tool Set

Class up dad’s bag with this personalized divot tool and hat clip golf ball marker set. Every golfer needs these items, and they probably have cheap plastic versions they picked up in the pro shop. But these beauties will set dad’s game apart from the rest. This set comes with a divot repair tool, magnetic hat clip and three interchangeable magnetic ball markers. These tools won’t necessarily help his handicap get any better, but he’ll definitely look more professional out on the green. Plus, every time he reaches for them, he’ll know somewhere out there is a kid who loves him, and that’ll pick him up no matter how bad a round he’s having.

Desert Fox Phone Caddy

Does the golf dad in your life have a smartphone? Then the Desert Fox phone caddy is a no-brainer. With an adjustable strap that secures it to any golf cart or pull cart, the Desert Fox fits most smartphones and will keep dad’s phone in plain view for all of his range-finding and course music needs.  A cup holder is no place for such an expensive piece of technology, so make sure dad’s phone is properly secured with the Desert Fox. With the option to add a funny quote, or support one of their partner charities, this is a gift that keeps on giving.

Masters Polo

You probably won’t get to take him to Georgia this year, but you can still give him a bit of Augusta with this authentic Masters performance polo. Straight from the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club, this golf polo comes in Masters green, navy or light blue, and features the iconic logo proudly displayed over his heart.  The perfect standby for that hard-to-gift dad, the polo shirt is the modern equivalent of gifting a tie or a set of cufflinks. It won’t ever go out of style, and backed by a tradition as storied as The Masters, this is a polo dad can wear for the rest of his life.

Performance technology and classic Augusta style…you can’t go wrong

The Perfect Putting Mat

If your dad is anything like mine, he’ll love a little bit of home practice, and this Perfect Practice Putting Mat will deliver. This is not your typical chunk of astro-turf, with real hardwood framing and rich colors that won’t be an eyesore in any room of the house. It’s functional too, with practice aids printed on the mat to help dad with his various putting drills (and trust us, he needs help with his putting drills), and a ball return to keep him from having to constantly bend over to retrieve his putts.

Go in with a sibling and gift him the ultimate basement putting setup with this hardwood putter stand. “You got your dad a card for Father’s Day? My sister and I built dad a putting green in his office.” Touche kids, touche.

Golf Gifts for Dad: The Gimmicks

I recently spoke with a Great Golf Memories customer about their amazing Father’s Day gift idea from 2019. This particular customer had a dad who was a real practical joker and loved to golf with his friends. So he ordered a box of the Father’s Day Golf Balls, but emailed in to request a specific message be printed on the balls.

Now some golfers know the pain of losing a fresh golf ball, but it’s a pain that hits your pride more than the wallet. So this customer had us print “If found, please return to…” and then completed the sentence with a member of his dad’s regular foursome. Knowing his dad would inevitably slice a few into the woods, he would get a real kick out of making it seem like his buddies where the ones who couldn’t keep it in the fairway, and not his dad. What a great way to goose your playing partners and make them share in the pain of a bad shot!

#1 Dad Golf Trophy

This year, I took a page from that customer’s book and decided to re-purpose a personalized hole in one trophy to be more in-keeping with the upcoming holiday. Instead of using it for its intended purpose, and congratulating my dad on a great hole in one (he’s sadly never had that distinct pleasure), I’ve had the brass plate engraved with a “#1 Dad” and had a personal message written below it.

For added effect, and I don’t think my dad knows this, I’ve kept one of the balls from the first rounds we played when I was a kid (yes, it is a colorful Looney Tunes ball, and yes it was on a putt putt course). With that sentimental ball, and the custom text, this is the adult child equivalent of a lovely finger painting for his desk at work.

A Hickory Mashie Club

For dads who enjoy the rich history of the game of golf, you can’t go wrong with this handsome engraved classic hickory mashie club. He’ll love telling guests all about how the mashie was used for approach and most closely resembles the modern 5-7 iron, but hasn’t been widely used since the mid 1900’s.

Engraved with Dad’s name, and two other lines of sentimental (or sarcastic, I don’t know your dad) text, this carbon steel mashie will look great propped up on his desk, laid across his mantle or hung up on the wall at work. With a real hickory shaft and leather grip, this artisanal piece will make the perfect gift for fathers who appreciate tradition and history.

Father’s Day Golf Gift Basket

Great for the man who has it all, the Father’s Day golf gift basket will be a collection of fun golf gifts that he’ll get to open on the big day. Featuring a curated mix of golfing tools, gifts and course essentials, this basket has something for every dad. Hand packed into a green wire basket, wrapped with a bow and topped off with a personalized gift message from you, when this shows up on his doorstep Sunday morning, he’s sure to get a smile on his face.

Golf Gifts for Dad: Collectible Golf Displays

If your dad is a collector or just a nostalgic person in general, then I guarantee he has some memorabilia in a junk drawer that he’d love to give a proper home. We’ve got an impressive collection of collectible golf displays to house everything from golf scorecards to pencils, golf balls to ball markers. If he wants to collect it and show it off, then he’s going to appreciate one of these for Father’s Day.

If he can collect it, we’ve got something to display it

Does your dad have a group of people that he loves to play with? Maybe you and him take yearly trips to various courses around the world. Whatever the reason, this 6 golf ball display will act as a reminder of the bond your dad shares with the game, and with the people closest to him.

Made in the USA out of solid hardwood, this lovely piece will hold 6 of the most important golf balls your dad has, and will feel even more special with an engraving written by you.

In conclusion…

One of the most fun parts (for me at least) about recreational golf is all the great stuff I get to buy for golfing. So with the wide range of golf gifts out there, it’s hard to go wrong when buying dad some hot new tech, or a classic old piece of hardware. Despite this sentiment being thrown around a lot, whatever you decide to get dad for Father’s Day, as long it’s from you, he’ll love it (or do a damn fine job pretending).
